The world of Qalestria feels like endless, glittering and oftentimes treacherous water. True land is rare and fiercely controlled by powerful dynasties known as Terran, who guard every grain of soil like treasure. The rest of humanity, the bold and the desperate alike, are Maren, people of the sea, living in sprawling cities built from floating platforms.
Trade flows between sea and shore, but Maren are forbidden from setting foot on land without invitation and escort. Resentment simmers as pirates prey on the vulnerable and merchants fortify their vessels. All while floating cities, towns and smaller settlements fight against the fickle waters and its inhabitants, for their homes and for their future.
