About this class

Fate has a plan for all of us, a mystic is one who seeks to control theirs. Some are born into this greatness, some seek it, others have greatness thrust upon them. The source of a Mystics power is different for each. The reincarnation of an ancient hero, are newly bound to a mighty weapon of power or the burden of a fortune that they will bring prosperity to the realm or perchance grave destruction, their struggles are heightened by trying to control this power. Whether they embrace it, seek it out or run from it their potential only grows as their lives and the strings of fate entertwine.

Hope feature

Enact Destiny
Whenever you roll the duality dice, if the results are within 1 of each other (Example: 6 and 7) then you can spend 3 Hope to make the result a critical success, but you don't gain any hope.

Class features

  • Rewrite Fate

At the end of a long rest, roll the duality die and record the results, these are your Fate dice, they are still Hope and Fear dice respectively. Any time you would make an action roll, before rolling the dice you may spend a Fate dice to make the result of either the hope or fear die the result of the equivalent Fate Dice recorded.
Each Fate dice can be used only once. When you finish a long rest, you lose any unused Fate Dice.

  • Empower

Whenever you roll the duality die, if the result of either die is higher than a Fate Dice, you may spend a Hope to swap the numbers instead of using them.

  • Thaumaturgy

Make a Spellcast Roll (10), on a success you are able to create an explosive yet harmless magical effect, such as a blast of light, a thunderous sound, shattering windows or throwing open unlocked doors.

Class items

  • A crystal humming with power
  • An artifact from a historic figure.
