Thief

Classes Designed by Zenbe10 • Art by Anna Pavleeva

About this class

Thieves have decided, one way or another, that the best way to get what you want is to take it directly. Although often seen as criminals, many thieves have noble intentions and have been driven to steal by systems of oppression that dismiss other forms of justice. They often live in societies where wealth inequalities are extreme and the rich hoard resources without consideration for the working people. Perhaps cultural artifacts important to their people have been plundered by a colonizing force who refuses to return them, so the only way to reunite these relics with their rightful owners is to steal them back. For heroic thieves, there is great satisfaction from stealing from those who are undeserving.

Class features

  • Pilfer

Once per scene when you succeed with Hope on an attack roll against an adversary within Very Close range, you may pilfer a Fear from the GM to remove it from their pool. That Fear is considered pilfered. The GM cannot spend Fear that is pilfered and pilfered Fear is not considered to be in the GM's pool. At the end of the scene, your pilfered Fear is returned to the GM's pool.

  • Not Guilty

You leave less evidence behind when you are trying to remain undetected. When you are accused of a crime, you may spend a Hope to discern a strategy that is likely to reduce suspicion. You gain advantage on rolls to conceal stolen items or pass them off as rightfully yours.

Class items

  • A cursed item bound to you when you stole it
  • Blueprints for a heavily fortified building
