About these subclasses

The goal is for the player to choose a Talent Tree, like in World of Warcraft. Once they have chosen a Foundation of their choice, they must stay within that tree when grabbing Specialization and Mastery.

Beast Mastery

Spellcast Trait: Agility

Traveler far and wide with two companions.

Foundation

Animal Companion: You have an animal companion of your choice (at the GM’s discretion). They stay by your side unless you tell them otherwise. Take the Ranger Companion sheet. When you level up your character, choose a level-up option for your companion from this sheet as well.

Sic'em: Spend 1 Hope to move your companion into melee range without rolling for an Agility Check. When doing so. Your companion gains +1 proficiency in its attack.

Specialization

Animal Companions: Gain an additional companion by your side.

Wild Instincts: Choose an additional level-up option for your companions.

Kill Command: When one companion successfully attacks an adversary your other companion attack too. Roll both companions attack damage and add both modifiers for damage.

Mastery

Advance Training: Choose two additional level-up options for your companions.

Bestial Wrath: When you make an attack roll with your companions, you can spend a Hope and make the attack with Advantage.

Marksmanship

Marksmanship

Spellcast Trait: Agility

A Lone wolf who hunts solo for their prey.

Foundation

Aimed Shot: You gain a pool of dice called Marksman Dice. On a roll with Hope, you can place a d6 on this card instead of gaining a Hope, adding the die to the pool. You can store a number of Marksman Dice equal to your Proficiency. When you make an attack roll or damage roll, you can spend any number of these Marksman Dice, rolling them and adding their result to the roll. At the end of each session, clear any unspent Marksman Dice on this card and gain a Hope per die cleared.

Specialization

Rapid Fire: Spend a Stress to reroll your lowest Duality Die.

Precise Shots: When you roll a critical success on your attack roll against an adversary with a weapon, roll a free Marksman Die.

Mastery

Trueshot: Spend a Hope before you make an attack roll against your Focus. On a successful attack, you remove a Fear from the GM’s Fear pool.

Survival

Survival

Spellcast Trait: Agility

When the beast and the master attack in coordination.

Foundation

Strike as One: You have an animal companion of your choice (at the GM’s discretion). They stay by your side unless you tell them otherwise. Take the Ranger Companion sheet. When you level up your character, choose a level-up option for your companion from this sheet as well.

When you or your companion successfully attack your targeted adversary in Very Close range, spend a Hope for you or your companion too attack as well using the same Duality Dice roll. You and your companion roll for damage dice and add them together.

Specialization

Wild Insticts: Choose an additional level-up option for your companion.

Flanked: Spend 1 Stress when an adversary attacks you while they’re within your companion’s Melee range, you gain a +2 bonus to your Evasion against the attack.

Mastery

Battle-bonded: Once per long rest, when the damage from an attack would mark you or your companion’s last Stress or your last Hit Point and you’re within Very Close range of each other, you or your companion can rush to the other’s side and take that damage instead.
