Eyebiter
Adversary overview
An eyeless, spindly limbed spectre that robs its victims of the ability to see before it strikes.
A creature of brittle limbs and hollow sockets, the Eyebiter moves with an unnerving, jerky grace. Its spindly form seems to absorb light, making it appear as a tear in the fabric of perception. Where eyes should be, there are only pits of absolute darkness, unless they are unsettlingly filled with the vacant stares of its past victims. It preys not on flesh, but on the very ability to perceive, literally plucking the sight from its prey and wearing it as a macabre trophy, its gaze a curse in itself.

Features
Passives
-
Sightless Hunter
The Eyebiter perceives the world through its victims' stolen eyes, which it absorbs into its otherwise eyeless visage, granting it uncanny awareness. The Eyebiter has advantage on attacks against all targets within Close range of a Blinded creature.
Actions
-
Severed Gazefear 1
Spend a Fear to make an attack against a target within Far range. If successful, the target immediately loses their sight, their eyes becoming vacant and dark. The Eyebiter clears 1 HP, and the target is Blinded, suffering Disadvantage on all rolls until they succeed at an Instinct roll to clear the condition.
Reactions
-
Eyebitestress 1
Whenever the Eyebiter takes Major or greater damage, it can retaliate with the stolen sensory echoes of its victims' despair. Mark a Stress. The attacker must succeed on a Presence Reaction Roll or lose a Hope, and you gain a Fear.
